That Time I Had Fun-Bermuda-times on the Carnival Horizon....

Here are all the Funtimes-es for Carnival Horizon's 4-day Bermuda itinerary (New York to Bermuda)...

That Time I Took My Friends On a Cruise...

After our first cruise (20 months ago on the Vista), Husband and I had so much fun that we decided that we needed to take all our friends on the next one... and then we went on two more in the interim. Yes, I'm an addict. I already covered a ton of stuff the Horizon has to offer when I was on it in May which you can read more about there.
We ended up picking the Carnival Horizon's 4-day NYC to Bermuda sailing because a) we loved the Vista which was almost identical, 2) it was the lowest overall cost and fewest required days-off-work for a cruise we wouldn't have to fly to (we're all in PA)...

That Time I Went to Carnival's Craft Brewery...

https://cruiseradio.net/

Guest column: Carnival Horizon Brewery Tour

Carnival made history in 2016 by putting a craft brewery on the Carnival Vista, brewing 4 varieties that can't be found anywhere else, and by being the first US cruise line to do so.

In 2018, they doubled down and put another brewery on their new ship, the Horizon.

Passengers are able to take a tour of the brewery that includes samples of the beer (for a fee). I partook both on the Vista at the Red Frog Brewery and then again on the Horizon at the Pig & Anchor Brewhouse, and then I wrote about it for Cruise Radio.

That Time I Went to Farenheit 555º...

I was recently invited to be a guest columnist for CruiseRadio.net and excitedly accepted!

Guest column: Carnival Steakhouse Review

My first guest appearance is my review of Carnival's Steakhouse specialty restaurant: Farenheit 555º (where I've visited it).

Carnival names their steakhouses differently from ship-to-ship (on those which have it) but they all have the same menu, so the experience *should* be similar. They are designed to feel (and taste) like a classic NYC steakhouse.

I first visited the steakhouse on the Vista in 2017 (my first cruise!). We had to go back again when we were on the Horizon in 2018, and then wrote about it.

That Time I Explored Carnival's Vista-Class...

In addition to several things you should know about cruising with Carnival, here's what you'll want to know about that is exclusive (for now) to the Vista-Class ships which currently includes the Vista and Horizon, and will include the Panorama in 2019....

That Time I Sailed Across The Ocean...

For our honeymoon, Husband and I decided that we needed to go all out. We thought about flying to Italy for a Mediterranean cruise... until I found the Carnival Horizon's first-and-probably-only transatlantic voyage.

Other cruise lines will switch their ships back and forth between US and Europe seasonally, but Carnival's SOP is having its ships built in Italy, they do a few Mediterranean itineraries, make one trip to the US and then stay there...

That Time I Booked a Carnival Havana Cabin...

https://cruiseradio.net/

Guest column: Carnival Havana Cabins

Carnival first introduced their private Havana Outside area on the Vista, and kept it going on the Horizon. The private area includes a pool, two hot tubs and a variety of seating options. Access to the area is obtained by selecting one of the 80 designated Havana cabins, or an Ocean Suite or higher cabin.

Husband and I decided to splurge on it, just once, to see what it was all about. I like that Carnival included interior rooms in the block of designated Havana cabins, whereas other cruise lines only have this kind of private area for suites. That's the only way I was able to not-go-into-debt to try "Havana Experience." They're still more expensive than all the other cabins, but less than a suite.

My assessment was that I loved the location of my cabin on the ship and I now almost exclusively book aft cabins, especially on Carnival. But unless I get a really big pay bump, I won't be dropping that much money on a cabin again any time soon. Decide for yourself if a Havana Cabin is right for you by reading about it on Cruise Radio!

That Time I Binged on Carnival Cruises...

In anticipation of my upcoming voyage on the Carnival Horizon, memories of all the studying I did to make sure my last Carnival cruise on the Vista last year came flooding back! Since then, I have perused many different ships and itineraries looking to get the best deals and a variety of itineraries for future cruises. I am booked on the Liberty for February 2019 and plan to book another on the Pride in 2020! (Updated: 8/21/19)

This list is of tips that are specific to cruising on Carnival. Sorry in advance that there aren't tips related to children... I have yet to have kids...

That Time I Was on a Boat...

Last week I went on my FIRST cruise. I didn't want to become a "cruise person" but it has happened. I had such a great time that I wanted to share my first-timer experience for anyone also considering it...
